Located in Paris’s 9th arrondissement, the Moulin Rouge district embodies the timeless charm of the capital. Just a stone’s throw from Place Saint-Georges, its elegant streets and historical atmosphere make it a truly exceptional place. Within this setting, we had the opportunity to completely renovate a 220 m² apartment, redesigning its layout to better suit the needs of its future residents.
The original configuration no longer met the owners’ expectations. We reimagined the space to optimize both functionality and flow. A major partition was removed to open up the main living area, creating an unobstructed view of the row of windows. The original flooring was replaced after full insulation of the subfloor. New spaces were designed, including a home office, a children’s bedroom, a master suite, and a guest area. A discreet air conditioning system was seamlessly integrated using concealed vents, ensuring that the authenticity of the volumes and decorative elements—either preserved or restored—remained intact.
One of the key aspects of this project was the rich interior ornamentation characteristic of the neighborhood. Staying true to the spirit of the space, we called upon our expertise and that of our skilled artisans to restore and enhance these period details.
The master suite underwent a major transformation: two bedrooms and a corridor were merged to create a refined and harmonious space. The selected materials—precious wood, elegant fabrics—complement the apartment’s original structure. Every detail was carefully considered: as we modified certain partitions, we also recreated moldings using traditional techniques to ensure they blended seamlessly into the overall aesthetic.
